Uprising
UpRising will be 10 in 2018. To date, over 3,000 young people have participated in our leadership, employability and democratic engagement programmes. Together we have helped create genuine social change and supported UpRisers to take up positions of power across the public, private and third sectors. We want to celebrate this by looking back on our social action and leadership development, examine their impact and use the findings as a basis to improve our work and the youth action sector as a whole. Young people will lead on every aspect of this work, with a focus on engaging more reluctant people onto our programmes.
This year we expanded from our four areas to six areas (with one additional area in the pipeline for the new year). We delivered our Leadership Programme to 279 young people (18-25), with a total of 38 social action campaigns, engaging 500 volunteers.
We also delivered the My Voice My Vote programme to 551 young people (16-21), delivering 95 social action campaigns, with 240 volunteers and reaching over 2000 stakeholders.
