The Royal Society for Public Health
- Training 2000 young people to be Youth Health Champions by December 2017. This innovative qualification will equip 14-25 year olds with the skills they need to support their peers with health related issues, and to develop their own skills in the process.
- Working to get young people involved at every level of the Youth Health Movement, in an advisory, innovation, design and steering capacity.
During our first year after pledging to #iwill, Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) have been working tirelessly to put young people at the heart of our youth health movement. This year we have trained an additional 500 young people to be youth health champions, running health and wellbeing campaigns and empowering their peers to take control of their own health and wellbeing in their schools and communities.
We’ve also increased the amount of youth participation at a strategic level, adding some additional young people to our youth health movement steering group, which informs the direction of the youth health movement.
Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 350 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
