The Key
The Key exists to inspire belief in young people. We want to create a world where young people believe in their ideas and take responsibility for living them. Our mission is to help young people realise their potential by discovering what they are capable of and helping them to generate the drive and determination to do something meaningful with it.
We pledge to:
- Inspire 3,000 young people from the North East of England to think, plan, do and review their very own youth-led social action projects by 2020.
- Enable 3,000 young people to explore social action on their own terms, build important personal and social skills and improve their emotional well-being.
- Provide 310 youth and community organisations from the North East with The Key Framework to engage and motivate young people in their area to participate in social action.
- We will encompass the 6 #iwill principles of quality social action to ensure our engagement is meaningful and impactful to young people across the North East.
We’ve just pledged to the #iwill campaign in May 2017, watch this space for our updates on how we do!
Quote from Victoria Dunn, Interim CEO of The Key
‘The Key want to create a world where young people believe in their ideas and take responsibility for living them. This includes encouraging them to play an active role in their local community through the development of their very own youth social action projects. Like The Key, youth social action provides young people with the opportunity to discover what they are capable, generate the drive and determination to do something meaningful with it and develop their skills, whilst improving the lives of others. We see the difference young people can make to their local community on a daily basis and how much of a rewarding experience this can be for them with it often leading them onto bigger and better things in the future.’
