Parenting NI
We are willing to support the #iwill campaign through pledging to:
- Encouraging parents we meet and work with, particularly through our parenting education programmes, to think about volunteering and its links to positive mental health.
- Encouraging families to think about volunteering, either with Parenting NI or other organisations in order to support family stability.
- Encouraging young people to think about the skills gained through volunteering as a way to develop social l and employability skills.
- To promote volunteering opportunities across the organisation in order to gain experience from a range of ages and backgrounds.
We’ve just pledged to the #iwill campaign in June 2017 – watch this space for updates on our progress.
Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 700 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
