National Trust
- National Trust will increase the number of family volunteering opportunities in the National Trust, finding ways for 1000 young people to volunteer their time alongside parents, grandparents and other family members.
- By also increasing to 200 (by 2020) the number of three to six month voluntary internships for young people, helping support them to develop skills for employment.
We have continued to help all young people to have every opportunity to serve others by:
increasing the number of family volunteering opportunities in the National Trust,
finding ways for young people to volunteer time alongside parents, grandparents and other family members
and by also increasing the number of three to six month voluntary internships for young people, helping support them to develop skills for employment.
In addition to this we have celebrated the tenth anniversary of our Youth Discovery programme; ‘Working Holidays’ for 16 – 18 year olds
Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 350 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
