The Mayor of London’s – Team London
- We will continue to offer young Londoners a variety of free programmes and resources to help them to take meaningful social action, whilst developing their employability and leadership skills. We will also increase our work with disadvantaged groups of young people which will help to reduce barriers to social mobility.
Team London Young Ambassadors
Team London Young Ambassadors is the Mayor’s volunteering programme which helps primary and secondary pupils to start their own social action based volunteering projects. Thousands of young people have improved their schools and communities by setting up projects on issues they care about such as food poverty, homelessness, bullying, connecting generations and the environment. The programme has reached 2,100 schools, engaged 400,000 young people, and has inspired 120,000 active volunteers.
HeadStart London
HeadStart London helps 16-18 year olds still in education to volunteer. In return, they are rewarded with employability workshops and guaranteed interviews for paid work with partner businesses. Since launching, it has helped 5,000 young people to give over 100,000 hours of volunteering to their communities.
2Work
2Work is one of City Hall’s European Social Fund employment support programmes. It will help Londoners aged 18-24 who are not currently in education, training or employment. The programme will use volunteering, tailored support and training to help young Londoners learn skills, gain confidence and get experience. They will be ready to enter the world of work, education or training. The programme will be launched during autumn 2017.
