Love Parks
Love Parks pledges to:
- Provide quantitative research on social action by young people (10-20) in parks and green spaces across England. We will do this by creating a steering group for young people to be part of in order for them to provide feedback, advice and guidance on ways to develop Love Parks for future generations.
- We will work closely with primary schools through the Keep Britain Tidy Eco-Schools programme , to further engage children in volunteering in parks and green spaces and support them to become positive role models for their peers.
- Love Parks will work with colleges and universities to engage young people (16-20) in volunteering opportunities within parks and green spaces. Love parks will support young people volunteering, by working with friends’ groups and area forums to provide opportunities for them to become members.
- We will create and promote opportunities to work with Love Parks directly through a series of volunteering roles between March 2015 – March 2016. We will actively promote and recruit park champions from the community with emphasis on encouraging young people to sign up.
So far this year we have created opportunities from research roles to film makers for our events. We have also made links with the National Citizen Service to support the young people they work with and again provide opportunities for them to learn and gain new skills.
We are constantly looking to engage with young people to get their feedback on what is most important to them when it comes to parks and green spaces, social events and community engagement. Their opinions are vital to us and the groups we work with.
