LGBT Youth Scotland
LGBT Youth Scotland is the largest youth and community-based organisation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in Scotland. The charity’s mission is to: empower lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people and the wider LGBT community so that they are embraced as full members of the Scottish family at home, school and in every community. We pledge to:
- Develop and provide opportunities for LGBT young people to engage in meaningful social action with a goal of 50% of our services users engaging in social action by 2020.
- Celebrate LGBT young peoples achievements through accreditation systems and highlight their contribution to social action through social media platforms; recognising their journey and progression at all levels.
- Build the capacity of staff and volunteers to champion social action and youth participation approaches within youth groups and services; supporting them to identify and create opportunities for young people.
