The Jubilee Centre for Character & Virtues

The Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues is a long-standing supporter of the #iwill campaign, and one of the first organisations to pledge when the campaign was first founded in 2013.  In 2017, the Jubilee Centre pledges to:

  • Continue research into a habit of social action led by a Jubilee Centre researcher
  • Support the 2017 cohort of #iwill Ambassadors
  • Run a MOOC – a free online course – on Building Character through Youth Social Action

Since 2013 The Jubilee Centre has supported the campaign in numerous ways, from providing a researcher to investigate how youth social action providers understand character, to hosting a consultation at St George’s House, Windsor, to produce this Statement on Character Development Through Youth Social Action, collaborating on the Transforming Young People and their Communities project, and supporting the #iwill Ambassador scheme since its inception.

You can find out more about the Habit of Service project here and the MOOC here.

Quote from Professor James Arthur, Director at the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues and member of the #iwill campaign Advisory Council
“The Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues is proud of its close association and the joint work it has undertaken with Step Up To Serve and the #iwill campaign. Together we have been able to bring researchers and practitioners together to explore big questions such as ‘how does social action transform the character of young people as well as the communities they live in?'”
