Green Schools Project
- Increase the number of schools working on environmental projects, providing young people with the opportunity to improve their communication, leadership and problem solving skills while helping the school community to see the simple steps that they can take to reduce its negative environmental impact.
- Every school involved will work towards gaining an Eco-Schools Green Flag award. Students involved will see clearly the benefit of their work in improving their school community, the local and wider environment.
- Work with at least 20 schools by 2017, expanding to at least 100 partner schools by 2020. Green Schools Project will also involve businesses to help young people to develop the skills needed for green jobs, and highlight the opportunity for careers in this sector.
We’ve only just made our pledge to the #iwill campaign. Check here in 6 months for an update!
Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life. Over 350 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
