- We pledge to embed youth social action on our priority estates through our Community Ambassador Programme, which supports young people to make a change in their local communities.
- We pledge to change the perceptions of young people to ensure young people are seen for the positive contribution they are making to their communities, not as a problem linked to anti-social behaviour.
- We pledge to work with local partners to support young people to gain crucial employability skills through volunteering and social action – to ensure they gain skills as well as making a positive contribution to their communities.
- We pledge to play a leading role within the Housing Sector to embed youth social action across Housing Associations by spreading the word about #iwill and sharing best practise amongst the sector.
We have continued to support our Community Ambassador network by funding 4 new teams of young people across the country; while also building the capacity of the existing network through employing an Officer to help with promoting the fantastic work of the young Ambassadors in their communities.
We have also made a commitment to involving social action in as many of our youth partnerships as possible, so as to achieve even more impact for our communities but most importantly the young people involved.
Quote from Charlotte Hill, CEO at Step Up To Serve
“The #iwill campaign is driven by leaders from across society who are committed to making youth social action a normal part of growing up in the UK.
We know that young people want to play an active part in improving their communities, and that in doing so, they develop their own skills for work and life.
Over 350 cross-sector organisations so far have pledged to support youth social action, and say #iwill. What will you do?”
