Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is a medical treatment that uses low-level lasers or light-emitting diodes to alter cellular function. LLLT is in ongoing medical research. At The Angel Laser Clinic we use the rejuvalight diode light therapy for best results.

LED Diode light therapy works by stimulating skin cells with two beneficial wavelengths, the red light (630nm) and/or the blue light (450nm), which both improve microvascular circulation.
The red light-emitting diode concentrates more on stimulating the skins fibroblast cells which produce collagen in the skin, resulting in plumper skin and better skin tone.
The blue light-emitting diode works more on eliminating bacteria responsible for blemishes and skin diseases like Acne.
The treatment is safe, natural, non-invasive, simple with no downtime.
It has no direct contact with the skin and can be a relaxing and enjoyable experience as a treatment itself or in conjunction with other treatment offered at The Angel Laser Clinic. It helps accelerate the body’s own ability to heal/repair.
How does LLLT work?
LLLT reduces inflammation by lowering oxidative stress and puffiness. Another mechanism is related to stimulation of mitochondria to increase the production of ATP resulting in an increase in reactive oxygen, affecting intracellular equilibrium and the multiplication of cells.
We normally offer LED light as an add on to other treatments. Here are some treatments that combine well with the Rejuvalight LED Diode Light therapy;
- Revlite and Regenlite Lasers – Helps to reduce erythema and PFO (redness and heat bumps)
- Chemical Peel – Boosts the elimination of bacteria if having a peel for acne, helps to reduce erythema and helps to accelerate to repair process of the skin to minimise downtime.
- Dermaroller – Helps to reduce erythema and helps to accelerate to repair process of the skin to minimise downtime. Boosts anti-ageing/rejuvenation properties from the dermaroller.
- Microdermabrasion– Boosts elimination of bacteria and offers a healing effect on the skin after the treatment, reduces erythema and boosts rejuvenation properties.
Benefits of LED light therapy
When used regularly, LED light therapy is thought to be able to reduce breakouts and other side-effects of inflammation. “Blue light triggers photochemical oxidation in order to kill bacteria on the skin, which is excellent for people with acne or rosacea. Red light stimulates our fibroblasts for cell renewal and ATP regeneration helping with skin rejuvenation. Near-Infrared has no colour but reduces inflammation and redness in the skin. It also helps with wound healing and reduces pigmentation. NASA has done extensive studies using LED light therapy for plant growth in space. The success of this led NASA to trail Red LED light on wound healing specifically with cancer patients.
Even though the diode light therapy complements the other treatments we offer, it can work effectively on its own.
